Please find a list of precautions we are taking to ensure the safety of our clients and employees:
- Temperature checks for employees upon arrival each day. Any employee with a temperature over 99 degrees will not be allowed in the therapy area. Any employee who has been exposed to COVID-19, is waiting for a COVID-19 test result, or has a positive COVID-19 test result will be staying home.
- All employees have been asked to follow social distancing guidelines and limit their unnecessary contact with others outside the clinic.
- Verbal confirmation of lack of exposure to and symptoms of COVID-19 from all staff, clients, and client’s guardians.
- All clinicians will wear face shields and/or masks. Masks are encouraged for clients & if a the client cannot wear a face mask, a face shield will be provided. Table top plastic barriers between the client and clinician will also be available and may be used in addition to a face shield. Front office staff will wear masks.
- Air purifiers will be in the main office area and in each individual therapy room. Windows in therapy rooms will remain open when possible.
- Hand washing before and after sessions for all clients and therapists.
- Frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces.
- Therapy sessions will be shortened by 5 minutes to allow additional time for cleaning therapy spaces between sessions.
- To allow social distancing for our employees and clients, clinicians will be keeping to a single therapy room while in the office.
- Outside food and drink (aside from food specifically for feeding therapy) will not be allowed in the building.
- At this time, we will continue to provide the majority of our sessions via telehealth and will not be providing in-home or school sessions.
- If you know that you, or a person in your home, has been exposed to or is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, stay home.
- Any clients displaying any of the following symptoms will be sent home: nasal congestion, chills, muscle aches, diarrhea, vomiting, new loss of smell or taste, headache, rash, fever.
- Temperature checks for all clients upon arrival to therapy. Any client with a temperature over 99 degrees will not be allowed in the therapy area.
- Only one parent/guardian will be allowed in the therapy area with a patient at a time. Our preference is that the child comes unattended to limit exposure.
- Clients/families will need to wait in their cars before and during sessions. During the cold winter months, one family member may sit in the hallway in socially distant chairs. Parents/guardians can come in for transitions, but must remain 6-ft away from employees. Transitions can also be completed over the phone.
- Parents/guardians must wear a mask or cloth face covering while in the clinic. Siblings and other visitors will not be allowed in the clinic area at this time.
- Children working on dressing will need to bring their own clothes in a resealable, plastic bag. This will be stored in the clinic and used only for their therapy sessions.
- Feeding therapy will be the one type of service where we will require one guardian to participate in the session. Parents/guardians will be expected to provide their own food for feeding sessions. Clinician’s will provide guidance about what to bring at least 24 hours prior to the session.
