Feeding Therapy
Sensory AversionsAre you or your child eating a limited number of foods or experiencing food jags due to sensory aversions?
Using the SOS Approach to Feeding, our therapists address sensory aversions and sensory regulation in picky eaters during feeding and interactions with food. Children and adults with sensory-based feeding challenges may only eat crunchy or chewy foods, avoid pureed foods, avoid foods that may have caused a traumatic experience, or prefer foods from one brand. |
Oral Motor SkillsAre you or your child having a hard time chewing or manipulating food or drink in your mouth during feeding?
Using Talk Tools and the Beckman Oral Motor program, our therapists work to improve oral muscle strength, chewing skills, and tongue use during feeding. Children and adults with feeding or drinking difficulties may present with atypical behaviors, such as not accepting age-appropriate foods, or accepting only a restricted variety or quantity of food or liquid. |
SwallowingAre you or your child having a hard time initiating a swallow after taking in food or liquid?
Using Talk Tools and the Beckman Oral Motor program, our therapists work to encourage safe swallowing during feeding. Children and adults with swallowing difficulties may present with atypical behaviors, such as not accepting age-appropriate foods, or accepting only a restricted variety or quantity of food or liquid. |
