Get to know Carlee: Carlee is a speech-language pathologist, CF at the Ann Arbor office. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Eastern Michigan University. During her time there, she explored evidence-based practices across many areas of communication, including literacy, and gained a deeper understanding of the theories that guide the field. Her therapy style is individualized, child-led, play-based, and centered around families. Carlee is passionate about empowering children to communicate with confidence and believes therapy should be fun, engaging, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. She incorporates a strength-based approach highlighting each child’s abilities and interests as the foundation for growth. By focusing on what children do well, she helps them build self-awareness, confidence, and motivation while scaffolding new skills in meaningful contexts. Carlee also has experience using neurodiversity-affirming approaches and total communication strategies, supporting children in finding the methods of communication that work best for them. Building strong relationships with families is at the heart of her work, and she strives to create inclusive, supportive environments where children can thrive. Outside of work, Carlee enjoys going on walks with her puppy (Archie), baking, doing Pilates, and spending time with family and friends.
