Get to know Maddie: Maddie is a Speech-Language Pathologist at the Ann Arbor office. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Saint Mary’s College – Notre Dame and her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Michigan State University. She has experience working with children across a variety of settings, including public schools and outpatient clinics. She is especially passionate about supporting early communicators and late talkers, as well as children with speech sound disorders, language delays, and social communication needs. Maddie is certified in Hanen “It Takes Two to Talk” and incorporates Hanen strategies into her clinical practice, focusing on coaching caregivers in naturalistic, everyday interactions. She emphasizes responsive interaction strategies such as observing, waiting, and listening, following the child’s lead, and creating communication opportunities within play and daily routines. Maddie values a collaborative, family-centered, child-led, play-based approach to building relationships and supporting functional communication that enhances quality of life for children and families. Outside of work, she enjoys taking spin and yoga classes, drinking coffee, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
