Happy National Handwriting Day!
Here are a few ways you can celebrate National Handwriting Day today: Write a Letter Who doesn’t love receiving a letter? Choose a friend or family member and write them a letter. Tell them about your day, your favorite color, or how much you miss them. Put the letter in an envelope, pick a cool stamp, and head to the post office! Make a Book Anyone can be an author! With your child, work together to put together paper and write a story. Leave some room on each page so you and your child can illustrate your story. Work together to bind the pages using a stapler, string, or a hole punch. Pass Notes Passing notes is fun because it feels like you are sharing secrets! Rip some paper into smaller pieces and take turns writing a note, folding it up, and passing it along. Prewriting Practice Not quite ready to do some writing? Participate in some pre-writing skill practice. Practice drawing lines and tracing shapes with your finger or a crayon, or practice coloring inside the lines. Make it fun by drawing or printing out shapes that your child enjoys, like dinosaurs, animals, or cartoon characters.
